Q. When should DFMs be used?

A. At birth.The intestinal tract of newborns is basically sterile, which provides the best opportunity for introducing the beneficial bacteria in DFMs.

During weaning or other diet change. When weaned, a young animal's digestive system is not fully developed. Therefore it cannot efficiently change from milk to solid rations. This transition time which can result in poor feed intake and weight loss.

During periods of stress. Handling, shipping, vaccination, weather changes, surgery and other situations can stress your pet and result in reduced appetite, digestion problems and weight loss.

Daily. Since many stressful situations can not be anticipated, daily feeding of a DFM may be recommended as a preventative measure. The second key step was the introduction of microbial inoculants. This required; perfecting the actual fermentation process of the microbial inoculants and then mastering a method for combining these microbial inoculants with the feed itself. STP by STP Inc. has mastered a process whereby the microbials are dehydrated and then added to the feed. When the microbials are ingested by your dog, they rehydrate and begin working on cleansing your dog's gastro intestinal tract.

Q. Is MY-CHAMPS suitable for smaller breeds?

A. Absolutely. Through testing, we have developed a relatively small kibble that is suitable for all breeds. MY-CHAMPS is already the choice of many well known breeders for various toy-breeds. Interestingly, the smaller kibble also causes larger dogs to actually eat slower. Note-A side benefit to eating slower, is the ability of MY-CHAMPS to aid in cleaning the dog's teeth.

Q. When is the best time to start my dog on MY-CHAMPS?

A. The sooner the microbials can get to work on your dog's digestive tract, the better your dog will feel. When your feed arrives, begin mixing MY-CHAMPS with your current feed (50/50), until your previous feed is gone. Once your current feed is gone, you can begin feeding MY-CHAMPS straight.

Q. Should I mix MY-CHAMPS with water?

A. No. The microbials in MY-CHAMPS have been dehydrated in order to make them more stable during shipping and to allow a longer shelf life. Once they are introduced to moisture, they rehydrate and begin "looking for" negative organisms to counteract, such as the ones found in most dog's bodies. Feed MY-CHAMPS dry. This will optimize the effectiveness of the Microbials on your dog's digestive system.

Q. My dog likes table scraps from time to time. Can I still mix these in with MY-CHAMPS?

A. MY-CHAMPS has been specially formulated to be 100% balanced and nutritionally complete. The addition of other random food stuffs can upset this balance and cause your dog to have digestive problems. For best results, feed MY-CHAMPS straight and let it do the work for which it was intended. Remember, consistency is the key to a good diet.
